Various events are organized by volunteers from within the club's dining and entertainment committees. Members may sign up for events at our monthly general meetings, or may contact the coordinator of the event directly by e-mail or phone. Phone numbers and e-mail addresses for coordinators may be found on the membership list, or under the "Members" option on this web site (after logging in).

Please note that our events are intended primarily for our paid-up members. Non-members may be invited to attend only when there are available spaces that have not been taken up by members, but these will only be offered in the last week or so prior to the event.

The events listing above shows specially scheduled events. This includes dinners, lunches, theatre visits, and other social events arranged by the dining and outings committees. The monthly general meetings are not included as they are generally scheduled to take place on the third Monday of each month. There are some exceptions, and these are noted on our Meetings page. To obtain the addresses, phone numbers and e-mail addresses of coordinators, please refer to your membership list or sign in on this site; for privacy purposes this site does not publish this information.

When signing up for events, members should be aware that they are not registered for the event until they have paid the advertised cost by cheque, payable to "Lake Country PROBUS Club". The cheque should be given to the event coordinator. To simplify accounting, cash will only be accepted if the price for the event is no more than $10. When paying cash, please have the exact amount available, to avoid us having to give change. All amounts paid are not refundable if the trip goes ahead.

If you are unable to attend the event for any reason, you should contact the coordinator to ask if there is a waiting list. If there is, the coordinator will notify the next person on the list. You will have to obtain payment from that person. If there is not, it will be your responsibility to find someone else to attend, and to inform the event coordinator that they will be going in your place. This is particularly important if a coach has been arranged for the trip, as the bus company, by law, requires a passenger list.

If a trip is cancelled owing to lack of interest or other causes, members who have already registered and paid will receive full refunds.
